Chandela temples
Built by the Chandela dynasty a thousand years ago, the temples of Khajuraho are among the finest achievements of Indian art. What survives is a group of intricately carved sandstone temples where gods, dancers, musicians and everyday life are rendered with astonishing skill — including the famous sculptures that have made the name known worldwide.
