Kerala moves to a different rhythm. Down south along the Malabar Coast, a lattice of backwaters threads between rice paddies and palm villages — best seen from a slow houseboat as the light softens. Inland, the Western Ghats rise into cool, tea-carpeted hills around Munnar, alive with spice gardens and wildlife. Along the coast lie calm beaches and the old trading city of Kochi, layered with Portuguese, Dutch and Chinese history.

When to visit
September to March is the pleasant, drier season — ideal for backwaters and hills. The monsoon (June–August) is lush and atmospheric and the classic time for Ayurveda. We plan the route around the weather and your pace.
