Rajasthan does not announce itself quietly. It arrives in colour — the pink sandstone of Jaipur, the blue-washed houses of Jodhpur tumbling down a hillside, the white marble palaces of Udaipur floating on still lake water. It’s the India most people picture before they’ve ever set foot here — and somehow, once you arrive, it’s even more than the picture promised.

This is a state built by maharajas who competed with one another not just in war, but in architecture, art and grandeur. Six centuries later, the result is one of the most extraordinary concentrations of forts, palaces and walled cities anywhere on earth — set against the golden edge of the Thar Desert and the green folds of the Aravalli hills.

At Kaimur Holidays, we don’t move you through Rajasthan on a fixed bus schedule. Every itinerary below is a starting point — a tried, tested and genuinely loved route through this extraordinary state — but every day, hotel and stop can be adjusted around your pace, your interests and your travel dates. Private vehicle, private guide, your Rajasthan.

Why travel Rajasthan with Kaimur Holidays

Every itinerary is a starting point, not a cage

The three itineraries below represent years of refinement — but none are fixed scripts. Want an extra night in Udaipur, or Bikaner instead of Mount Abu? Just tell us. Most travellers end up with a route that looks a little different from the template, and that's exactly how it should work.

Local knowledge that guidebooks don't have

Our guides aren't reciting facts from a page. They know which gate at Amber Fort avoids the elephant queue, which Udaipur rooftop has the best thali with a Lake Pichola view, and when the light hits Jaisalmer's sandstone just right.

One vehicle, one driver, the whole journey

Unlike tours that change vehicles and drivers at every city, our Rajasthan trips typically use a single trusted driver for the entire circuit — continuity, familiarity, and a driver who knows your group's pace by Day 3.

We match hotels to how you actually travel

Budget heritage guesthouse, 4-star comfort hotel, or an actual converted palace — Rajasthan has more of these than anywhere else in India. We recommend properties based on your real preferences, not a one-size package rate.

A real person plans your trip, not a form

Every enquiry gets a personal reply from someone who has actually been to these forts and palaces — not an automated quote generator. Ask questions, request changes, get real answers before you commit.

Trusted, licensed, and reviewed

Kaimur Holidays is a licensed Indian tour operator with verified reviews on TripAdvisor, Viator and Google. Our Rajasthan itineraries are some of our highest-rated multi-day experiences.

Popular Rajasthan destinations covered

Jaipur — the Pink City

Rajasthan's capital and the gateway most travellers begin with: the hilltop Amber Fort, honeycomb-fronted Hawa Mahal, City Palace complex and the stone instruments of Jantar Mantar.

Udaipur — the City of Lakes

Often called India's most romantic city. Built around Lake Pichola, with the City Palace — the largest palace complex in the state — rising straight from the water.

Jodhpur — the Blue City

Indigo-blue houses tumble down the hillside beneath the immense Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest and best-maintained forts in India, alongside the white marble Jaswant Thada.

Pushkar — the sacred lake town

One of Hinduism's most important pilgrimage destinations, home to the rare Brahma Temple and a sacred lake with 52 bathing ghats — extraordinary during the Pushkar Camel Fair.

Mount Abu — the hill station

Rajasthan's only hill station, set in the cool Aravalli range — a welcome change of pace after the desert plains, and home to the intricate Dilwara Jain Temples.

Ranakpur — the 200-pillar Jain temple

Between Jodhpur and Udaipur sits one of India's most extraordinary Jain temples: 1,444 marble pillars, no two carved alike, supporting 29 halls of intricate stonework.

Getting around Rajasthan & best time to go

All road travel is in a private air-conditioned vehicle with a professional driver — typically the same driver for your entire circuit. Some sites offer traditional alternatives, like an elephant or jeep ride up to Amber Fort; these are optional and paid locally. For travellers short on time, legs such as Udaipur–Jaipur can be done by a short domestic flight instead of a 6-hour drive.

October to March is the best time to visit — pleasant 15–28°C days, ideal for forts and outdoor sightseeing, and the Pushkar Camel Fair usually falls in Oct/Nov. April–June is hot (35–45°C, early-morning sightseeing only); July–September brings the monsoon, with lush green hills and dramatic skies.

Questions travellers ask

Most travellers need 5 to 7 days to properly experience Rajasthan’s major cities. A focused 2-city trip (e.g. Udaipur and Mount Abu) can work in 4-5 days, while a full circuit through Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Pushkar is best done over 7 days.

For first-time visitors with limited time, the Golden Triangle Tour (Delhi-Agra-Jaipur) is ideal as it combines Mughal monuments with an introduction to Rajasthan. Travellers wanting deeper Rajasthan exposure should consider Jewels of Rajasthan.

Yes. Udaipur, the City of Lakes, is widely considered one of India’s most romantic destinations, with lakeside palaces, boat rides and heritage hotels. The Romantic Rajasthan itinerary (Udaipur-Mount Abu) is designed specifically for couples.

October to March, with pleasant daytime temperatures of 15-28°C ideal for sightseeing. April to June is very hot (35-45°C), and July to September brings the monsoon with intermittent rain and lush green landscapes.

They offer different experiences rather than one being objectively better. Jaipur offers grand forts, bustling bazaars and royal history; Udaipur offers a calmer, more romantic lakeside atmosphere. Most complete itineraries include both.
